Email warmup

Email warmup is the slow build-up of sending volume and engagement on a new mailbox so providers learn to trust it before you send cold email.

A new mailbox has no history. Providers do not know if it sends useful mail or spam, so they are careful with it. Warmup is the practice of starting with a few emails a day and raising the number step by step over weeks. Many tools also send mail between warmup mailboxes and reply to it, so the mailbox shows normal two-way activity.

Warmup does not guarantee inbox placement. It cannot fix a bad list, poor copy or broken authentication. It helps a clean setup grow safely. The biggest mistake is to warm up for a few days and then jump to a full daily volume. Another is to stop warmup when campaigns start, which removes the steady, safe mail from the mix.

Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC first. Start low and raise volume slowly. Keep the warmup running at a small level while campaigns send. Watch bounces and replies, and cut volume at the first sign of trouble.

In Terlido

Terlido's warmup ramp starts a mailbox at 5 emails a day, grows it by about 10 percent a day with a rise of at most 3 per day, and stops at the mailbox's daily volume setting.
