An honest EmailOctopus alternative
EmailOctopus is a low-cost email marketing tool with a Free plan for 2,500 subscribers and a Pro plan priced by list size. Terlido Newsletter is free up to 10,000 subscribers and sends each issue from your own mailbox. Here is an honest look at both.
Pricing, as of November 2026
EmailOctopus has a Free plan and a Pro plan priced by subscriber count, with a monthly email allowance that grows with it. Yearly billing saves 10%, and nonprofits get 20% off for life. When we checked from Europe the pricing page showed only euro prices, so the Pro prices below are in euros.

Where EmailOctopus is stronger
- A Free plan with 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails a month, with no time limit and no card.
- Low Pro prices for small lists: €13.50 a month at 1,000 subscribers.
- Unlimited landing pages, forms and users on Pro.
Where Terlido is stronger
- Terlido Free covers up to 10,000 subscribers, against 2,500 on EmailOctopus Free.
- Pro is one flat monthly price up to 100,000 subscribers across unlimited brands, instead of a price that rises with your list.
- Issues go out from your own mailbox, so readers see your address and replies land in your own inbox.
- On Pro, your AI agent can draft, test, schedule and send through Terlido's MCP server.
Who Terlido Newsletter is for
For: Writers, founders and small teams who want to send a newsletter from their own address and read replies in their own inbox.
Not a fit:
- Paid newsletters. Terlido has no paid subscriptions or paywall.
- Sending a big list in one burst. Terlido sends from your mailbox at your provider's pace, so a large list can take more than a day.
- Lists of people who never agreed to hear from you.
Which one should you pick?
Pick EmailOctopus if: You want a cheap, classic email marketing tool with landing pages, and your list is small or your budget is in euros.
Pick Terlido if: Your list is past 2,500 subscribers and you want to stay free, or you want issues to come from your own address.
Terlido Newsletter is new and has no customer logos or open-rate numbers to show you. The fastest way to judge it is to connect a mailbox on the Free plan and send yourself a test issue.
